August Blog: Every School Year Begins with Hope

As another school year begins, our classrooms are once again filled with movement, determination, and smiling faces. While summer has come to an end, the progress our participants made continues every single day. At CECO, every new school year brings new opportunities to build confidence, celebrate milestones, and help children and adults achieve greater independence.

This year is especially meaningful as CECO celebrates 25 years of transforming lives through Conductive Education. What began in 2001 as a six-week pilot program serving just six students has grown into the largest Conductive Education center in the United States and the only one in Florida. For 25 years, thousands of children, young adults, and adults have come through our doors, each with their own goals, challenges, and dreams. Every participant has become part of CECO's story, and every success reminds us why our mission matters.

Our 25th Summer at CECO was one to remember. Over eight weeks, participants worked hard, built friendships, gained confidence, and achieved meaningful progress through Conductive Education, all while enjoying a fun Hollywood-themed summer. We proudly served 60 participants and provided more than 1,200 Conductive Education instructional hours. Although summer has ended, those accomplishments continue to inspire everything we do as we begin another school year.

At CECO, we believe learning and growth should continue throughout every stage of life. From our youngest learners in Early Childhood Education to our School Day Program, Young Adult Program, Adult Program, Individual Sessions, Virtual Sessions, and Summer Camp, we help individuals with neurological motor disabilities build strength, communication, confidence, and greater independence. Every participant follows their own journey, and our dedicated team is there to support them every step of the way.

This school year is also an exciting time of growth for CECO. Our new Longwood Adult Program Satellite Campus allows us to serve even more adults with neurological motor disabilities while creating additional classroom space at our Winter Park campus for our growing K-12 programs. 

For 25 years, families have trusted CECO to believe in what is possible. We have celebrated first steps, stronger communication, greater independence, new friendships, and countless milestones that once seemed out of reach. Every participant reminds us that progress looks different for everyone, and every achievement deserves to be celebrated.

None of this would be possible without the generosity of our community. Thanks to the Pete and Lynn DiPasqua Student Scholarship Fund, 90% of our K-12 families receive tuition assistance, and over the past 25 years, CECO has provided more than $2 million in scholarships to ensure no family is turned away because of financial barriers.

When someone supports CECO, they are doing far more than donating. They are helping a child take independent steps, giving a young adult the confidence to communicate, providing adults with opportunities to continue learning and building friendships, and giving families hope for the future. Every gift creates new possibilities.

As we begin another school year, we are excited for everything that lies ahead. New goals will be set. New milestones will be reached. New friendships will be formed. Together, we will continue building on 25 years of hope, determination, and life-changing impact.
